Click for slides   In 2002 Torsten Schmidt established GRP4 Fabrications. By background he is a qualified toolmaker and manufacturing engineer with over fifteen years experience in the engineering industry in Ireland. He is the third generation of the Schmidt family to get involved in the car component industry. This coupled with his involvement in car rallying give him a keen insight into the needs and challenges of the motor sport industry.

Today it’s a growing success story. Recently expanded to a state of the art 7500sq.ft. plant on the outskirts of Galway city, Torsten leads his ten man team specialising in the manufacture of competition components for the MK1 and MK2 ford Escort.
GRP4 also offers a full range of design and machine/ fabrication facilities which can cater for anything from a “one off” to volume production. Finishes can include powder painting, plating or clear/colour anodising and media blasting.

With the latest in technology “know how” in this ultra modern computerised plant the team at GRP4 can supply custom engineered products tailored to any customer specifications. There are over 200 products in the existing but expanding product range. The client base now extends from the Irish Republic to the North of Ireland and the rest of the UK and Europe.

In the short space of time GRP4 has been established a reputation as a market leader in the Irish Motor Sport industry. This is based on the ability of a highly trained and motivated team to deliver o good product on time to a demanding market.
